My background & qualifications

With a passion for growth and over 20 years experience working in Entrepreneurship, Leadership, Education and Music, I have relished the last 10 years of entrepreneurship, as Founder of three small businesses including Melody Tots and most recently Ruth Morgan Coaching.

I'm a postgraduate (PGCE) with 20 years of experience in education (both formal and informal education) and recent experience as a Senior Leader in Portsmouth Music Hub with specialisms in Music, Inclusion and Early Years; with an invaluable foundation of wide-ranging skills working in the charity sector for over five years at the beginning of my career (including Fundraising and Events Management roles in national and international charities).

In 2024 I completed an accredited Diploma in 'Life Coaching' (Distinction) and accredited 'DISC Trainer' qualification. I continue to study for a Corporate & Executive Diploma.  I am also a member of the Association for Coaching.  All are globally recognised and fully accredited by the International Coaching Federation and the Association for Coaching.

Personal challenges and my coaching philosophy

Everyone encounters personal challenges that shape their resilience and growth. Life is filled with obstacles, and my own journey has underscored the significance of maintaining a positive mindset and cultivating self-awareness.

Route with map pins

Some of my experiences include facing redundancy at age twenty three, supporting close family members with chronic illnesses, navigating through restructurings in three different organisations, coping with the loss of loved ones, and overcoming a debilitating frozen shoulder.

Each of these experiences has taught me invaluable lessons about adaptability, perseverance, and the importance of a positive mindset. These challenges have not only influenced my journey and been a stark reminder that life is precious, but also fuelled my passion for coaching, as I aim to help others navigate their own obstacles and emerge stronger.

During my recovery from a frozen shoulder, I experienced a lightbulb moment: I wanted to help others move forward and be their best selves. This exploration of my Ikigai—understanding my purpose, strengths, passions, values and the needs of the world—set me on the path to becoming a Personal Performance & Life Coach.

Since then, I have been energised by the transformative power of coaching, excited to help others find their momentum and live fulfilling lives.

My philosophy centres on the idea that everyone has the potential to grow and thrive, and I am here to guide you on that journey.

Personal life

Outside of coaching, my happy places include:

  • Enjoying walks by the sea, or in the hills and mountains with my husband, two sons and our working golden retriever puppy.

  • Connecting and making memories.

  • Exploring new cultures and meeting new people.

  • Listening to, watching, and creating music.

  • I have a slight obsession with reading books and listening to podcasts about personal performance and personal development!
